AHS fishing team wins again

For the second year in a row, Athens High School’s fishing team is the Texas High School Bass Association’s Central Division Team of the Year. In addition, Reagan Nelson and Alec Scott have been named Anglers of the Year; Rance Fernandez and Justin Gatlin finished sixth overall in Angler of the Year standings; Cody Rayburn and Ryan Honea finished 11th overall in AOY standings. All of AHS’s individual teams qualified for the regional tournament and will be fishing on Lake Palestine April 20-21. From there, teams that qualify will fish in the THSBA State Championship Tournament on Sam Rayburn.
