Here's What's New

January is Texas School Board Appreciation Month with the theme of “Helping Our Kids Shine”. Board members and their families were treated to dinner and served by the Culinary Arts Program under the direction of Jennifer Gorell. Students presented each Board member with a large metal star signed by the 2012 graduating class representing the thirteen years of education in Athens I.S.D. Students presenting the stars were: Blaine DeShazo-PreK at Bel Air, Joshua Mason-Kinder at South Athens, Emily Mason-3rd grade at South, Yuvia Leon-5th grade Athens Intermediate, Osbaldo Juarez-8th grade Athens Middle School, Jacob Williams-Junior at Athens High School, Alex Elliott-Senior at Athens High School. Quinton Johnson-Senior at Athens High School read the poem “The Star Polisher” dedicated to the AISD School Board members.

Athens ISD would like to take this opportunity to thank our School Board Trustees for devoting their time to support public education and serve our school district.
