Athens ISD is aware of concerns raised regarding Lifetouch and student photo privacy, and we appreciate the questions from our families.
Most scheduled student photography sessions for this school year have already been completed under our existing contract. Any additional photos scheduled to take place this school year will be handled either in house or through a local professional photographer.
Looking ahead, Athens ISD will be using a different photography provider for the upcoming school year. With approximately 3,000 students across multiple campuses, providing full professional photography services entirely in house is not feasible, so identifying a new vendor will require careful review to ensure strong privacy standards.
The safety and privacy of our students remain our highest priorities, and we will share updates as plans for next year are finalized.
