‼️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: Hornet families, an area of Athens that includes the high school, Central Athens and South Athens elementary campuses has lost power. Oncor does not expect power to be restored before 7:30 at the earliest. Consequently, as much as we hate to, we have no choice but to cancel the meet the teacher and freshman orientation events at these campuses, and due to multiple scheduling conflicts will be unable to reschedule before school starts. Please rest assured, though, that we will take great care of your children on Monday.

🙋🏻♀️ I'll try some! 🥝 Jessica Warren of Labatt Produce (shown here in the Bel Air cafeteria) recently visited Athens ISD’s three elementary campuses to provide students with the opportunity to try fresh fruits and vegetables, some of which were new to them. These included watermelon radishes (a member of the mustard family along with turnips), gooseberries (a sweet-tart fruit), and rainbow carrots (which can be yellow, red, white, purple or orange). The “farmers market” tasting was arranged by Taher Food Service, which manages the district’s cafeterias. #HornetNation
